I have rejoined forces with the padres for now. This weekend is the Newport Folk Festival, which I think I have attended every year of my life. It's a very summery event...

My parents are just as loony as ever, if not more so. They want to send me to a hippie school in Oregon, so they can go travel in the Middle East. I'm glad they don't want to take me to that war-torn part of the world, and the school and the people I'd be staying with seem really cool. But it also kind of makes me feel like a burden, for which they need to make special accomodations. And the last time they tried to send me away to school, they ended up changing their minds 5 weeks later. It was not pretty. I'd rather just stay with my sister.

In the meantime, we'll enjoy some good music. Today: Bela Fleck, Ray Lamontagne, Odetta, The Pixies...Tomorrow: nobody I know, but maybe they're good too...
